Hello everyone, I have this Ban Liang excavated in China.
My question is, should I clean this coin or leave it as is?

this would be the exception to "never clean coins"

treat it like an ancient and give it a good soak in olive oil.

Too much for VerdiCare to bite off here.

First try ultrasonic cleaning machine at a jeweler's.
Second Investigate how museums clean and preserve copper and bronze objects for display purposes. Several methods can be found. Experiment on some other bronze or copper object for safety and efficacy, then choose one of those methods for your coin.

@oak, you should segregate this coin away from your others--I'm concerned that the light blue patches are bronze disease.

If either of you wishes to remove the greenish material (called "bronze disease") you could try soaking in sodium sesquicarbonate solution for a few days up to a few weeks.

Formula for sodium sesquicarbonate solution:
10.6g of sodium carbonate (washing soda) and 8.4g of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) dissolved in 100ml of distilled water.

I was aware of this chemistry and of the advantages and disadvantages of Renwax, but
this is one of the best articles I have seen on the subject.
