Christopher here from Tolleson AZ.. I Purchased some U.S coins from a buddy, and now I need help determining if I should resell them or put them away.. There are Morgan dollars, some Peace dollars, Franklin half dollars, Washington quarters Mercury dimes, Buffalo nickels. I have a few I need help figuring out if they are something of rarity. 1960 D Franklin half dollar may be a mispunch on the front of forehead and nose and on the back, maybe a full bell line, and it's in pretty good condition. Also have a 1963 D Half Dollar double die on reverse. Are those a possibility of something rare and are they valuable?

to CCF and your new addiction...
As far as the 60D obverse I feel it's Machine Doubling.
Neither coin would be considered full bell lines, and as far as the 63 reverse DDR, sorry but your photos are not good enough for me to give an opinion
Check out Varietyvista.com and compare your 63 to the listed example
Good luck, have fun....

I don't see anything but junk silver . Forget any notion about selling any of these two Franklins . But hold on to them for their silver content . Go ahead and post photos of your other coins for us to evaluate .

While the date on the 1960 looks wider, I believe it is a shadow. Note how light that left sides of the device are? The light was too low and created the shadow that I see on your coin. V.V doesn't list a DDO for that year/mint, Same for Wexler's site.

To CCF! Actually, that is Machine Doubling. Size of devices have been reduced in size.
