During the
Wheat cent era, mint marks were hand-punched. There are several mid-1920s cents with wildly misaligned mint marks. If you search the forums, you will find examples of some of the crazy placements from these years. The 1926-D has locations ranging from slightly west of the "9" to fairly significantly east of the "2." Yours is actually closer to being centered than those placements.
They don't bring a premium, but some people collect the more absurd examples, just for fun. There are also 1953-D and 1953-S cents with the mint mark partly overlapping the "5" in the date.
