Assuming the hype is on the first "1" Are you sure it is a die break? Could it be a "ding"?

I see the break by the bust. To answer your question, no.

Definitely not. Why is "does this increase my coin's value" so often the first question?

I think it could ad a little spice to the coin, not much in terms of value though.

Apologies. I just find the repetitious "what's in it for me" tone of so many posts kind of discouraging.

Right, I do think it is a beautiful coin and in fine condition. I just haven't seen one with such a die break. Thought it would be nice to share and I'm sure as many other collectors dream, I was hoping it may add some value.

First, You may have an unlisted retained Cud (a/k/a pre-cud). There is a second die break from the center of Lincoln's shoulder to the rim, and what appears to be a worn but identifiable continuous break across Lincoln's coat and shoulder connecting the two. If your coin is a Retained Cud, and if you submit the photos and garner a new listing, you would have a coin with added value (probably enough to buy a couple pizzas).

I agree with Coinfrog... if your collecting (which means you are planning on holding on to it) as opposed too: Hey! what is it worth? (plans to profit) This site is for collectors and not profiteers. There are other sites for that like ebay. I'm not being negative... just putting out the difference between the two. just me

Quote: .This site is for collectors and not profiteers. I disagree, this site is for teaching and sharing numismatic information, if someone chooses to financially benefit themselves with said information I see nothing wrong with it. Tbh I'm kind of getting sick of this pseudo moral high ground that seems to vilify people who make money in this hobby.

While this coin is a desirable year, the cleaning of the coin is a disaster for it. Altering the original surfaces can really hurt the value for a coin.
