I have found an uncirculated 2020 Weir Park that I am nearly positive is an error coin. I am a recent numismatics fanatic, and am not sure what to do/where to go with this quarter. I am hoping my newly found Coin Community Family is willing to share their expertise with me and help a sister out?! Lol. Thanks, in advance, for your help, and I must say that I enjoy this community immensely, and get lost for hours in the posts on this website!

What exactly do you think is an error? I just see a quarter with a bunch of hits and some Reed Marks from other quarters.

Sorry but this coin is a heavily circulated coin with no mint error. everything that you are seeing on that coin happened post mint. Keep searching though you'll start to be able to distinguish the real errors from those that are just post mint check the links in my signature to learn more

I don't know if yours "is a heavily circulated coin" but it has taken some hits to it. Your quarter did not leave the mint looking like this, so no errors here I'm afraid, just PMD (click on the blue link for more info). Keep searching!

p.s. Thanks for the photos! Good job!

I'd say the coin isn't heavily circulated, but it has taken a few unfortunate hits on its journey from the Denver mint to the coin rolling service provider--including all those stops in between. And those edge/reeding hits--they happen.

Photos of the reverse may be fun to see.

Ballistic bags. I'm confident mint employees do not fill these bags by carefully hand placing each quarter into them. Rather, coins are dumped into bags en mass, and dumped quickly--hits and dings galore!

When looking at coins, think how your car appears. On your car if you have scratches and dents on it, does this increase the value of your car or lower the value of your car? So on coins, an incuse mark is 99% of the time just damage, that turns the coin into face value. So damage is not a good thing. On coins the better the grade the coin is, the more valuable a coin can be. (Especially on high grade coins that a very low percentage can achieve) so look for the best and just spend the damaged coins. There are other things to look for on coins. We'll talk about this another time.
