1993-P Quarter, I'm sure This Is Just My Usual False Alarm

But the lips are not even close to what I would consider shelf like my dad was a carpenter, I know what shelves look like LOL but there was shelf like portions in the coin also. I just wouldn't call the lip shelf like that's kind of what I'm asking here is is that considered shelf like?

Looks like MD to me, and my father was an old world master cabinet builder.

When you focus on coins, you should focus on the fields, not the tops of the devices. When you focus on the fields it leaves all the devices clear. When you focus on the tops of the devices, the fields always look out of focus. So try this and see if it helps your images.

Mostly Machine Doubling on the devices. Remember when you are looking at the outside edge of the devices, that is the areas you will see Machine Doubling. The MD removes the contour of the devices, leaving them flat/squared looking. On a doubled die you will see the spread in the centers of the devices. I just check the V.V site for DDO's and guess what? There are very few DDOs during that time period:
