Does This 89d Have True Die Doubling?

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 07/05/2020 11:08 am On these cents of the later 1980 Zincolns, the doubled dies often are found on the digits on the right side of them. Here is a side by side of a normal example and a DDO: Look for this. When the die breaks down it enters into the die wear pattern called DDD. ( Die Deterioration Doubling) If would look like this: Note how the devices are normal, but the field area shows the DDD. The metal is trying to move towards the rim direction because of the die wear. That is what your coin is showing. Report this Post to the Staff
