Great example, guessing these pics don't do it justice.

My least loved coin, I actually purchased one for my type set otherwise, ugliest coin ever. Personally am not a fan at all. Even such a high rated one as yours, it's such an ugly coin. No love here for ugly Ben :(

Come on H, what's not to love about that balding hippy? Nice scarce example!

Are the lines in the fields on both sides, especially the reverse, on the holder?

You are referring to die polishing lines.

I was wondering if that is what they were. Thanks.

This thread sent me on a scavenger hunt in my digital inventory records. Ever since I first digitized my inventory in 1996, I have not handled even one PL Franklin. Scarce indeed! Nice coin, and thanks for sharing it @jimbucks!

If it was me, I would have run it through NGC/NCS conservation before grading. Cloudy fields detract from the eye appeal IMHO. Especially on a PL.

To me it looks like its all scratched. Even with a CAC sticker I would have passed. But I would generally pass on any ugly Ben

Maybe scarce, but not attractive. I'd have passed on it unless it was CHEAP.
On the other hand it would probably be easily saleable to a registry collector who just cares about the slab label and not what the coin looks like.
