I was lucky enough to score 20 rolls of quarters from my bank on Friday and all were brand new. Nothing circulated. I cracked 2 of the rolls to make sure they were all Weir Farm. They were. While searching for anything weird, I found this.....it appears to be a H type marking on the forehead and another strange symbol to the left. Any idea how this could happen with the coin never having been outside if its cozy little bank wrapper?

Possibly clash marks from the artist's easel is my guess.

First:

Coins are ejected from the presses into large bins. Coins continually land on one another and make marks. Your picture shows what appears to be where a rim impacted your quarter (parallel lines). It is likely another coin impact happened to make what looks like a cros bar, and thus the "H."
The dies do not have an H on them in this location (or all quarters struck with that die would have this mark), therefore this is just interesting looking PMD. If it had been an actual letter H engraved into the die, then it would be raised instead of incuse.

Thanks. It just looked a little too perfect to be random and the swastika spaceship thing was an interesting accompaniment

Clashes only affect the fields. Not the design. Looks like coin device transfer. The marks look incuse.

I opened the other 18 Weir Farm rolls and was rewarded with 27 American Samoa W's. I've never seen so many dinged and scratched uncirculated coins! There was also this W with a hole in the head...
