Which coin domination would you want most to see Lady liberty back on the obverse of the coin?

I would like to see an image of Liberty on the obverse of the dollar instead of the Presidents. I would also like to see the dollar circulate.

To me Lady Liberty & the dollar were meant for each other. But I like the design so much any of the coins could contain her.

Definitely the dollar. Most banks will tell you that hardly anyone is collecting the Presidential series anyway; might ignite some interest

Most definitely the dollar. It would also be cool for the mint to make a two or five dollar coin with a beautiful picture of the lady on it and make it larger then the Susan B (no confusion over the quarter)and have it made with silver plated copper(silver plate). They would be a great coin at the poker table too.

Just for giggles... I am a big proponent of changing most of our coins. Here is my opinion. Take it or leave it. Penny: Return to the original wheat would be nice for the 100th anniversary and beyond... With the VDB reverse for first year only, of course. We can go back to the Memorial in 2058! Nickel: I very much like the Jefferson. It's probably the only coin I would hate to change. If they did, a nice Andy Jackson would be appropriate for a while. Dime: Ronald Reagan bust very much like FDR's pose. The presidential seal reverse would be nice, and very appropriate for the victor of the Cold War. Quarter: Laura Fraser's Washington originally chosen in 32. Half: Back to Franklin. He deserves the remainder of his time. Dollar: Maybe a nice small diameter Peace dollar type. They almost returned Peace to us in 64... Why not now?

I disagree on the Reagan dime. Aside from the fact that FDR led us out of the depression and through most of WWII, he was loved by most of the country. Reagan does not come close to that, he doesn't deserve a coin in his honour. A much more deserving figure is James Madison. I mean, he wrote the Bill of Rights, the document that our country is based on. And what does he get? A portrait on the scarcely used $500 bill? He should get a permanent spot on a (large?) dollar coin. And that, my friends, is my FDR-Reagan-Madison rant.

If there had been no war, his socialist programs were going to finish us off. Unfortunately they stuck around too. He was buying votes, pure and simple. The only thing FDR did right was being alive when WW2 broke out. His legacy would be different otherwise. And don't give him credit for winning the war either. I know/knew many folks from that war, and THEY won the war. Bozo could have been president with these folks' character, and we'd still have won. Reagan actually did something with his presidency. He won by landslide too, so how does he not come close to being loved? He gave us deficits, but he did so as a strategy to outspend the Soviets into extinction. He knew that we were strong enough to withstand the spending and that socialism would just collapse in on itself with deficit spending.

Quote: socialist programs were going to finish us off Remember that Hitler was a fascist not a socialist, there is a HUGE difference between the two. That being said, to keep the discussion on topic, I will keep my mouth/keyboard shut and not give a reply to the rest of the post.

I would like to see, because someone asked, the Lincoln Penny have the wheat style reverse, made of copper or bronze, I would like to see the dime have TEDDY on the obverse, also the indian head nickel return, with the mound, also lady liberty on the halves, no disrespect to KENNEDY, she is nicer on the eyes, the dollar coin I would like to see FRANKLYN returnon a grander scale or if this is a no go the lady on the obverse of the MORGAN her self,ANNA WILLESS WILLIAMS now that would be sweet...just my opinion...

Well since I started this topic/poll I guess I should throw my 2 cents in..lol I would prefer a new design of liberty on the Half-dollar or the quarter. I honestly love the older designs of liberty on our coinage, but I do not want a rehash of it like they did with the bullion coins (American gold/silver eagle). The US mint could design a liberty obverse that is worthy of our coinage and give it that classic look with a new flare On another note FDR did not really get us out of the depression. World War II manufacturing (guns, motorized vehicles, and bombs made by GM, GE, etc) and the devastation/reconstruction of Europe during and after the war are what pulled the US into a golden age (manufacturing and growth). The 1930's New deal(s) were a dead man walking and did nothing for the economic crisis (Obama should note this before he starts trying to "create" government jobs to pull us out of this recessional/depression) Our current recession (headed straight for a depression at 88 miles per hour with not stops for any president or political party) is something we created ourselves over the past 30-35 years. I think we have to hit bottom or its going to be much worse if the gov tries to prop it up with the US's fait currency bailout and loans..lol. Sorry I got into politics on this. its just my opinion which is worth about a wood nickel like everyone elses..lol
