50 bucks...

Corroded large cents seem to be selling for about 1/3 of the problem free ones, but despite this, I was very surprised that it went so low. From what I could see, the reverse looked relatively clean, and the front didn't look TOO bad (I've seen worse...).

Now the question is whether I'm actually going to GET the coin...

I think this is the best deal I've ever gotten, literally. And what adds to the surprise was that this coin had a 14 day return policy, so probably people just weren't watching.

Common date LC. I have had a couple experiences where the seller did not produce. I have won bids on several coins where no one bid? These coins were worth far more than the final bid. Take note of the seller ID and just be prepared to deal with the BS as a precaution.

I will watch for this because I've heard of similar experiences to yours, and I often see people taking down coins when they receive bids FAR under their value (with big ticket coins, this is understandable, can't expect someone to really foot a few thousand dollar loss). But I paid just now, its insured and shipped for $56, so we'll see what happens. Interesting to see a $250 coin go for next to nothing....

I have won like that before as well and if the dealer wanted more for it then they should do a higher bid number to start with, buy now or a reserve. But who knows, maybe they bought it years ago for $5 and feel as if they are making a killing on it as well, nice buy.

Great buy! I hope they come through with the coin. This doesn't really have the same significance but I once won a PCGS slabbed Statehood Quarter for a 5 cents bid and I think the shipping was like 50 cents. I don't collect the series but for that price it seemed like a good value and the seller shipped the coin.

I once won a bid on a beautiful natural rainbow toned Morgan for $26. Before closing the deal, the guy told me, "sorry, but I forgot I sold that one." ebay did nothing. There are tons of shady people out there. You just have to be prepared for that. I left him UGLY feedback and he retaliated threatening to sue me for defamation of character and all kinds of BS. I told him to bring it on. It stopped there. Moral of the story, you just never know. Even 100% feedback is no guarantee.

vermontensium, WELL SAID, I have (like others) been taken for a ride on the e-bay wagon, switched coins from the original auction, never received the coin, etc.I have since been very cautious and this is still no guarantee to get what you paid for.I too have left a nameless person "ugly" feedback, and was told "why did I do that and defame him after he sent me a coin that was 4-5 grades lioer than the one I won, boy do I have some nerve, and dont think e-bay will help, HAAAAA. BEWARE OF THE SLY FOX, HE WILL DECEIVE YOU!!ShadowCreator, I wish you luck, think positive, and best wishes!!BE WELL MORGANS DAD...

This guy claimed to be an attorney and threatened me as to "you don't know who you are messing with" all kinds of garbage. I called him a con man and left it at that. Good luck ShadowCreator.

Took awhile, received the coin. Some unsightly corrosion on the face and light porosity on the obverse, reverse is nicer, but it's definitely a nice coin.

Well my router is pretty messed up so that will take awhile (I'm directly on the modem on a laptop) so it'll take awhile but I'll do it as soon as I get the chance.
