Wasn't really looking for an error slab, but since I saw this one just listed as a relatively low grade 1970 S I picked it up for $11. Just an oddity to add to the collection.

TB. Did you get this on E-Bay and the seller swore up and down it is a 1970 S cause it said so on the slab

Lol. I've seen quite a few like this. Usually it's either the date wrong (71 instead of 77) or the wrong MM (S instead of O). I've never seen them put a MM on a coin that doesn't have one.

People do complain about sellers getting things wrong a lot on ebay, but I think in this case I'll take it!

Hello tropicalbats,

I would email NGC and ask them IF THEY WANT TO BUY IT FOR $100.00

With this slab in circulation, I would think they would want to take this off the market.
