Can't exactly say I understand why you took the attitude you did, but I do appreciate the apology. No hard feelings. I do get wanting the coin you found to be special.

don't sweat it, most people don't realise they are being rude on the forum when asking for a price of something that they think is worthy of a fortune and get told that its probably just Junk coin. That being said I don't think you were arrogant, more likely comes off arrogant (only speaking for myself though) however that because mostly answer the question multiple times and the answers are hardly hard to find themselves (my 1971 or 1972 new pence is special or is this dollar worth 1000 dollars stuff like that), while is quite annoying for me I think that everyone starts as a beginner and that you can learn loads of new things on here.
May your finds be a plenty and scams be non existence :S

Coin collecting--as a passion--will take you on a long journey. If you stay at it, you'll look back on it in years to come and marvel at what you've learned, and also acknowledge the wide knowledge gaps that remain.

to the CCF! Please feel free to post any coins you want opinions on. The members here will give you honest answers. We LOVE to look at interesting coins! If we didn't love numismatics, I don't think that most of us would be here. I think we've all gone to a coin show or posted images of coins that we KNEW were special, only to find they were normal. It's one of those "Hit or Miss" things. Coins aren't ever "Almost" an error or variety!
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Danaro, I remember that my very first post was a coin that I was certain was a extremely valuable doubled die. Looking at the coin it was obvious, and I had lots of pics to back it up! So after I posted it a couple of folks thought it looked interesting but deferred to others because they weren't sure. Then some guy named Mike Diamond replied that it was a fake (and explained why) and said he would like it for his book of counterfeit coins if I didn't want it. Being a Newbie I thought it sounded a bit shady... However I hung in there with this community and I learned a lot about coins and a lot about the people here and how they will tell you what you need to know about coins (the truth). By the way, I also found out, eventually, that Mike Diamond is probably the foremost expert on Error Coins and 100% legit and honest. Several months later I was honored to send him the coin which he graciously accepted!!
