Fully concur this is the small date variety for the year/mm - and a pretty example indeed. I challenge your high MS grade opinions - the hit on Lincoln cheek and obverse field scratches, coupled with the barely visible but maybe hits on the reverse legends might well place this otherwise lovely coin in the MS63/64 range.
