This error/damage is located in the God We Trust on the Kennedy half dollar. I don't even know where to look for research since I have no idea what this is called. Any info or if you know what it is would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Agree - can you show us a sharper pic, not quite so close?

The object is in the letter G. Looks the same with a close up photo or a further away photo. I was thinking Die Deterioration but I'm not sure.

@marine, as stated above, better pics would help us to help you. My initial thought is that this is surface staining or dried adhesive rather than a mint error.

I agree with Spence. Much better photos are needed if we're going to be able to help.

I added a 2nd photo further away from the area. Are you guys saying that the 2nd image is also too close and not good enough? It is a 1600x usb microscope.

There's a raised circular O in the word GOD and it looks like a small letter P underneath.

Ok that added explanation and pic definitely helps. I think that having an overall pic showing the entire coin also would be helpful. From what I can see, that does look quite a bit like a letter P. However, a dropped letter would be incuse (and sized the same as the original letter). Please confirm that it actually raised above the surface of of the coin. Thx.

For coins it does not need to be more than 200x.
