I picked up a few proof sets today at a local flea market and while I was looking through them when I got home this one caught my eye. I know there is a lot of Machine Doubling but it matches the listing for Variety Vistas DDO-021 but it also looks like the DDO on wexlers known as WDDO-034 so I'm not sure if they are the same or different listings.

Sorry if the photos are a bit blurry, I took them through the plastic case they are in as I didnt want to crack it open.

Well it is not DDO-021. The mintmark locations are slightly different:

So it can't be that die.

Hmm, I never thought about the mintmark location, I noticed that the "E" in IGWT has this little dimple at the bottom left and it looks identical to the one on the DDO-021 listing along with everything else except the mint mark location.

None of the other listings seem to have this little dimple on the E, Side by side with the the E on the coin and the E on the Variety Vista listing.

I will keep looking and see if there is another listing that matches with the mint mark location.

Did you note the 'Description' on this die?
http://varietyvista.com/01b%20LC%20...0SDDO021.htm

Quote:
Description: Light spread on TRUST.

So all the other devices are normal, just that one area shows the hub doubling. That is why your coin looks the same there, as it is not affected. Just the area in the description is only affected by the DDO.

Yes I read the description and the light spread in TRUST is the same as the one on the listing, the only thing I did not think to check was the mint mark location, they looked to be the in the same location and I dident think to do an overlay or anything to make sure since everything else matched.

You might made side by sides of that area to compare the devices from the V.V site to see if the size if enlarged or not. Make the images the same size as the the on the site and then crop them to outside devices and make them both the same size to see if there is a difference is size of the devices, or not. Having the coin in hand, you can rotate the devices to the same as on the site.
