1940 D Nickel With Possible Error, Please Help

I came across this 1940 D nickel while I was looking through some old coins belonging to my father, do not know anything about coins. Need help figuring out of this could be a significant error. He states it was on a jar of coins he got from his father, so he's had it for at least 40 years. Please help, it looks like 115 and two lines are stamped over Monticello

PMD. Someone made what looks like an intentional indent on the coin.
