Do you folks see two hands of God or one? I know the "hand" of God is what is written, and I often see one obviously and not two, but this one looks like two hands reaching together? At least to me. (The thumbs would be behind the image so not shown in my mind the way I see this.) Divus Constantine I. Died AD 337. Veiled head of Constantine right / Constantine in quadriga right, extending his hand toward manus Dei above; star to upper left;RIC VIII 37; LRBC 1372. 15 mm, 1.70 grams Edited by louisvillekyshop 09/13/2020 8:03 pm

Or if this is the actual single hand of God, man was clearly not made in his image.

I saw this as two cupped hands facing one another. The elephant interpretation also makes sense to my eyes though!

It is supposed to be a single hand reaching out from heaven.

One hand with a badly formed thumb in my opinion.

If that is one hand I'd say the artist did know how to make a much shorter thumb as they made Constantine have a short thumb. Anyway, holding my hand in this position so that would be my thumb and not another hand, there is an issue with the wrist as it looks like the only way that is one wrist is if God is wearing a loose dress shirt. What people are likening to the left eye of the Owl just should not be there at all with just one hand. I have looked over a lot of these now and yes they usually always draw one hand I recognize that. It is a common coin so there are plenty of examples to look through in the literature online. Interesting all around to me.

As we quite often see in this period, they can find hands difficult to convey.
