firemandmc Valued Member United States 80 Posts	Posted 10/30/2020 2:13 pm So... I tool it to a NGC guy, he put it under a microscope and couldn't find any eveidence of it being tampered with. Planning on sending it into ncg or PCGS to be certified. Which one would you guys recommend and about what is it worth? Thank yall Report this Post to the Staff
Yokozuna Pillar of the Community United States 4618 Posts	Posted 10/30/2020 3:24 pm I would think it's not a coin that really needs to be graded. The cost of certification, shipping and insurance would be more that the value of the coin. As Ty2020b noted, you might get $5 to $50 dollars for the coin, but I can see it selling for a price that justifies certification. Most of the members here agree that unless the coin is going to sell for $150 or more, grading will lose you money. If it's just that you like graded coins, I would say any of the top TPGs would be fine, just pick which slab style and label you like the best. I've had coins graded by NGC, PCGS and ANACS and I like them all. My personal preference would be PCGS, because of the combination of the more professional looking labeling and the clean look or their clear plastic slabs. I think PCGS certification tends to be the most respected of the TPGs among collectors, but that's just my opinion. ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting?
