Ty2020b Pillar of the Community United States 4680 Posts	Posted 10/29/2020 12:33 am I'm guessing you're referring to the area below the bust? Looks to be either Split Plating or Die Deterioration. Yokozuna Pillar of the Community United States 4618 Posts	Posted 10/30/2020 3:33 pm If you are referring to the bright luster just around the bust of Lincoln, that could an effect of how the coin has been handled in circulation. The fields are recessed from the device in this area and may have just had less circulation contact, so they stayed brighter with more of the original luster in that area.
