I started checking through bags of 50p coins at the start of 2018. I've now reached the landmark totals of 10,000. Here's the result!

Olympic totals: Aquatics (2), Archery (4), Athletics (2), Badminton (1), Basketball (2), Boccia (2), Boxing (2), Canoeing (4), Cycling (5), Equestrian (1), Fencing (1), Goalball (1), Handball (1), Judo (1), Pentathlon (1), Sailing (1), Shooting (1), Table-Tennis (2), Taekwondo (1), Triathlon (3), Volleyball (2), Weightlifting (2), Wheelchair Rugby (2), Wrestling (1).
Interestingly I got 33 of the Olympic coins in the first year of the survey, and only 12 since January 2019, so they definitely seem to be getting scarcer in circulation.

That is amazing and must have taken a lot of work. I amazed how so many are the 1997 50p - they must have issued kazillions of them.
Also I found the fact a 50 Forint of Hungary was in there - that coin is worth about 12p! And the number of commems since 2016 is just phenomenal!
Of my 9 loose 50p coins, 4 are 1997, 1 is 1999, 1 is 2000 (Libraries), 2 are 2001 and 1 is 2008. Finally I have the 4 Paddingtons which were sent to me last year.
