I started checking through bags of 50p coins at the start of 2018. I've now reached the landmark totals of 10,000. Here's the result!

Interestingly I got 33 of the Olympic coins in the first year of the survey, and only 12 since January 2019, so they definitely seem to be getting scarcer in circulation.

I see that the UK is flooded with Commemorative coins, some of them hard to get. I always feel a bit guilty, since it seems that Canada was one of the first to start the trend of excessive commemorative coins.

That is amazing and must have taken a lot of work. I amazed how so many are the 1997 50p - they must have issued kazillions of them.

Also I found the fact a 50 Forint of Hungary was in there - that coin is worth about 12p!
And the number of commems since 2016 is just phenomenal!

Of my 9 loose 50p coins, 4 are 1997, 1 is 1999, 1 is 2000 (Libraries), 2 are 2001 and 1 is 2008. Finally I have the 4 Paddingtons which were sent to me last year.

Congratulations Rob! This seems like quite a work to do! I once found an Isle of Man 50p from a London vending machine about a decade ago. It was an exciting find for me!
