If this is genuine, then it really is a rare coin. However the photos are poor and misleading. I'm not bidding for it!

The same seller is also advertising a collection of current Bank of England notes with 'unique serial numbers'. Surely every Bank of England note has a unique serial number?

Some BOE Notes do not have unique serial numbers.
They are the notes that you must avoid and not use at all costs; you may run foul of the Law if you do.

Is it just me, or does the date on that 2p look like it's been tampered with?

Almost definitely altered/fake. In any case, I'm not going to trust a seller who thinks the year that Jane Austen's mother was born being randomly within the serial code makes the note really collectible...really grasping at straws there

Not only is date dodgy, the N in NEW looks just wrong.

And why is there still this craze for high priced 1971 2p coins, the auctions at bottom had 2 average ones at $70NZD and $440NZD - crazy man crazy!

how about 68,000 pounds for a worn banknote ending in 007? Any James Bond fans with no sense?
