Am I allowed to ask non-coin specific selling advice?
Thanks!

@navy, folks shouldn't be shy about offering their opinions, but a topic like this probably better belongs over in our e-commerce section of CCF. Here is a link: http://goccf.com/f/4

OK--Thanks. I'll try my fundamental question here first. I'm making no secret about trying to sell my collection of about 1,200 US coins/sets and about 250 foreign coins/sets (only about 50 of which are worth $20 or more--IMHO). So, my question is how to determine value/reasonable pricing for the collectors (not dealers--I've already tried that route with some disappointment). For ebay, I've used values comparable to sold items there, and PCGS/CDN prices as baselines. I have made one consignment to Great Collections (which is in process). I've also put a few lower value/quality coins or "lots" of the same denomination on ebay, with no offers despite lowering the prices on some to below PCGS/CDN values. I know that ultimately it comes down to whether anyone wants to acquire the coin(s). I'm assuming that my prices are too high or that no one wants the specific coins I have out there. I don't think there are any magic answers, but perhaps some of you may have some ideas. In the meantime, I'm going to continue to post on the forum, primarily for grading advice (which has been extremely helpful) until I reach the threshold for selling here. I'd welcome any suggestions--do not be afraid to be blunt. I have a thick skin on this. Thanks for all your kind assistance! Bill

Given some recent horror stories here concerning ebay, you may want to consider blocking/ cancelling bids from those with low or sketchy feedback.

Try setting up at a local flea market with a few items and see how it goes. I used to do that when I was younger and had pretty good success at it.
Selling it at a flea mkt kinda solves the shipping, INR and returns problems.

Thanks. I should clarify that the 50 coins I mentioned are from the foreign coins/sets. I have about 350 or so US coins/sets worth about $20 or more.
Best,
Bill

eBay, Etsy, etc are full of Buyers looking for nothing but undervalued bargains. They will not pay retail, book values or PCGS/NGC guide values EXCEPT for exceptionally RARE items. Remember also that we are in the midst of a pandemic viral outbreak, a questionable economy and uncertain political times. Those factors weigh in on how people spend discretionary money. You would be very lucky to get half of book value for most of your sets from online sales or from local dealers.
