Hello Coin Community, I found this trashy looking 2003 penny in my coin jar. On closer look I noticed many, many defects. The front of the penny is just riddled with pits and scratches. The back almost looks like it was triple stamped? The E. Pluribus is missing from the E. Pluribus Unum. What do you guys think of this and is it worth anything?

Spender. Damaged. It wasn't born looking like that.

@decen, first welcome to CCF. Second, yes those seeming extra strikes on the back are just more damage. This coin can be spent.

Much damage, after it departed the mint. May have spent some time being knocked around a parking lot. It's worth exactly one cent.

PMD, barely worth one cent. Throw it back.

Weird that this coin has been in a box for several years, and it's mint date is really not that old. But I did suspect it was just trash. I have some more coins I will be posting.

Oxygen is what activates the zinc rot. The countdown is already happening.
