Soft dies are poorly made counterfeit dies made to mock just such an error coin as yours. You can read more here. http://www.error-ref.com/?s=counterfeit+die
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

I took it in to my coin dealer. He said it was genuine and I'm sending it to NGC.

Did he offer to buy it?

Keep us posted with NGC's results. I got plenty of popcorn for this one!

I posted this here before, but with photos taken on my iPhone. Luckily, I have access to a dental microscope and I took some better photos. The coin is in pretty rough shape, but I think you guys can have a nice time helping me find the year and if it is genuine. It was pulled from my great grandfathers collection and my grandmother gave the collection to me. He died in 1991, so the coin has likely been in the family for at least 40 years. It suffered a lot of pvc damage, because it was in a fake leather pouch for over 30 years. My local coin dealer thinks it's real, and he thinks I should get it graded. Thanks!

Yes I was going to but I don't have an account (I'm 16) and I was gonna do it through my coin dealer but he hasn't sent off his coins yet. He's gonna call me when I need to bring it to him.
