@ryan, first welcome to CCF. Second, the lighting in your picture seems to be obscuring whatever you are trying to show us. Is there some different surface color maybe?

Try increasing the amount of light used when taking the photo(s), but ensure the light is diffused--perhaps masking the light source using tracing paper or thin (white) translucent plastic.

I tried to get a better view, let me know if that helps. I'm not sure what the terms are for the errors but ithe whole coin looks really different I believe maybe some type of wash also the whole right side of the reverse seems to have a multiface dye that is rotated where it looks like the tail and the wing and stars are smeared. Again please forgive my ignorance and thank you for the reply's.

Also the surface looks like it's has a silverish tone as well as gold in different lighting and angles

Ryan great job with the new picture. I guessing this coin had a drop of soda or anything liquid dry on it leaving a stain. If you want to learn more about error coins this site is a great place to start. There is another very educational site. I posted a link below http://www.error-ref.com/

Coin on right is the error coin, coin on left is just for comparison. Coin has two tone color silver and gold. Also seems to have right side of reverse image doubled or tripled in someway in rotation.

Keep in mind that over twenty yeasts of circulation can and will alter the surface of a coin. Staining, acidic conditions and a myriad of other things will change a coins appearance. Both of your coins are just normal circulated dollar coins.

to the CCF! It looks like the coin may have been poorly plated and now it's peeling off, revealing the original surfaces underneath. The high spots on both sides look like they are worn down possibly from buffing of the plating. I can't really see the doubling, but that too could be a result of the plating.

I think it's not a stain.
