I think I finally found one. Second coin I pulled from a bag that a local homeless guy gave me. I help him out every now and then, and he knows I like pennies. So he saves the pennies he gets out of the car wash vacuum for me. It's nasty, but I've found a couple nice ones. If this one turns out he'll be getting a commission.

When you look at that E and 5 in particular, you don't see it?

hello CentHunterJ
Not FS-103.
without close ups of TRUST or date with mintmark, I say this is not a doubled die.
WE TRUST looks like flattening.

@chj, that actually looks pretty close to me but @lom and @qh72 may be right. Here is a quick comparison of the letters US in your coin and from the varietyvista website: Added: The doubling on yours doesn't seem to be adding much to the overall thickness of the letters.

This is as close as I can get for now. But check out the 1 in the date now. That might help.

The problem is that it is Machine Doubling and the other example is a doubled die. (On the right) Look at the centers of the coin. Note the extra width in the middle on the example on the right. On the left, it is regular sized devices with Machine Doubling. For doubled dies, always look at the centers of the devices. On the outside edges of the devices is .... (you know the rest ... Thanks SilverCents. We don't all need to be vomiting sunshine and rainbows, but a little optimism in this Rejection Factory is extremely appreciated.
I'm just just kidding around. It's necessary not only to keep things factual, but because tough love builds character and weeds out the weak.
But I too feel there's a glimmer of hope that this sad and abandoned penny from the dust and slime bin of misfit coins could someday smile again and wear a plastic PCGS Suit. Because I can see what you guys can't. Only because I can see it in person. So I'll try my absolute hardest to capture what is necessary to get an apology letter from Coop:P
I will return!
