Looking for help identifying if this quarter I have has some sort of rim error on the back of coin. The lip does not look normal to me and it's like missing. Thanks

Yes it is. Good eye! Misaligned die or off-center strike.

Slight mis-aligned die (MAD), not off-center. No premium here that I'm aware of.

Just to be clear about the distinction, a mis-aligned die only has one side affected whereas an off-center strike has both. Yours is a slight MAD.

That's a fairly evident MAD. I haven't seen very many after Denver switched to the Schuler horizontal strike presses in 2005.

These are collectable when the devices fall over the edge of the coin:

Note the weakness on the opposite side. When this occurs, the die was out of alignment far enough to not give a full strike on the opposite area.

I try to help everyone see what I see/don't see on their coins. I'd rather present what I see, then you will know what needs to be there to ba a collectable. So I seldom give a yes or no answer. Just an explanation.

Slight MAD, no premium though I'm afraid. With future posts, please crop photos to the very edges of your coin, Thanks.
