1983 Penny Reverse Die Crack? - Coin Community Forum

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 11/21/2020 7:11 pm I can't tell if it is raised or incuse on that area. If incuse it might be a struck through or damage. If level with the surface it might be a stain. If it is raised it maybe a die crack or slight die gouge. Just can't tell. But this coin is a keeper. Note how it looks so shiny? It looks like an earlier die state. If it were mine, I save it as a fresh die example and keep it as that. Report this Post to the Staff

If so, you may be able to depress it with the tip of a wooden toothpick.
