Beautiful coin Thad! Slowly but surely you're convincing me to start saving the newer ones.

BadThad, What is special about that 98? Am I not seeing a Wide AM?

It has full and complete steps....and it's high grade around MS-66. The master die wore out quickly in 2006. Almost all the 2006 cents are mushy in the middle of the steps.

Don't laugh! ....I pick out some atractive toners now and then while I'm seaching and pop them in a tube labeled "toners/misc". I just couldn't grab the subtle blue this coin has, in hand it's a sweet looking AU coin.

Hey BadThad, I do the same thing. I saved a 1983 tonight that had toned a honey gold.

the "steelies" are fun to find aren't they? I've found 2 so far. Beautiful '59 btw... No matter the condition...I just cannot part with any 1959 I find... It's the same with the '68-s. Nice finds!

Finding my usual amount of Wheats while roll searching a Brinks box last night......but then......I found a 1919 Wheaty ! This is the oldest Wheat cent I've ever found. (did find a 1907 IHC though, week or so back). And......just wanted to mention this too. Is it just me or are 99% of the LP1's, LP2's, and LP3's that I find now have, so quickly, degraded in quality superfast ! I mean, it wasn't that long ago, that I was finding plenty of D's, (and even a few P's) in superb shape !(except for some spotting of course). Now.....that's all over and done. And I STILL can't seem to find the fourth design in a D OR a P..... They have just been NON-EXISTANT for me here in NE. Kansas ! Now I'm worried that I'm gonna have some nice full coin tubes saved of the first three designs.....but nothing worth saving on the 4th one (by the time "I" see one anyway!) Probably end up being the same with the new Shield Cent too....

eaglefoot, I have the same issue. I have a good amount of coin for each of the first three, but the fourth, forget about it.

Finding the fourth Lincoln Cent was hard for me. I didnt find my first one untill 2010. so far this year I've went thru $150 in brinks wraped and $25 in customer wraped pennys. I've found 8-10 of them in good cond. but didnt find any in the last $75 that I've searched. Seems like they came and went super fast. only found them in a $100 spread. I only searched maybe $150 in 2009 and found around 100 various 2009 cents none of them the fourth lincoln tho.
