@tippy, can you please confirm that this arc is actually a depression in the surface of the coin as opposed to surface staining? Thx.

Also this could be damage to the coin. Another cent could have been pressed onto the surface of this coin, using a vice?
1. Is the coin bent at all?
2. Are the rims flatten at the two ends of the affected rims?
3. Is there any evidence of a push outwards on the reverse opposite this area?

You should never clean coins unless you really know what you are doing, and then it is call conservation not cleaning.
