FS 103, what stage? Did you match against the die markers?

A closer view of the date would be nice to see if it is a 003 or 008.

Well Merclov die states are a bit out of my league, but I'll see if I can figure it out. Here are some close ups of the date

It looks a little like both have the bulge (003), but I'm not an expert on these. Either way--very nice finds @tc!

If you find the die markers, that can help you identify exactly what you have (or don't have). Think of the die markers as birth marks.

Nice DDO, I love the '72 DD's.

TY. I believe Stage C FS 103 on one coin. The other is a bit unclear to me. If I had to guess I'd say FS 108 Stage C but I'm no expert. The 2 on the date looks like FS 103 but I don't see any of the die markers for it.

Tip of the day!On the 1972 cents, there is a quick way to determine the class 1 doubled dies on the obverses. The clue? Note the white arrows. See the affected '9' on the images? They look like that on the DDO's that year. The upper images are showing the normal and the master die digits.
