Can someone help me out? I am new to collecting and have a lot to learn. Can anyone explain why then front of Lincoln's hair is different on this coin than others? Is this a error?
The area on the back of the head may of had some grease in the depths of the die, thus preventing the hair to strike up on your coin. Sometimes the grease is filling a lot of the die: Those are the ones collectors prefer. A slight amount is common on to find on coins.
At the risk of being redundant, we need a larger photo of the coin--both sides preferred. An additional, high-resolution image of the area in question would be perfect. Thanks.
