1968 5 Cent Coin Date Pieces Missing

Me again with another possible error or just a waste of time (Sorry)


1968-5-Cent-Coin-Date-Pieces-Missing
Photo not best, apologies - look at the date


It looks like the bottom part of 1968 has been sliced off and cut short. Look at the 1 half length, the 9 is missing its tail and the 6 is missing a bit and the 8 is nearly complete.

Nothing major, but none of my other 1968 dated coins have this. I realise the coin is fairly worn (VF or so) but this is missing date pieces.

Any info could helps thanks

It looks to me like it has been scraped against something.

No way that could happen during the striking of the coin.

Might be PMD caused by a coin rolling machine.
