Hi all. A few months ago I purchased two original bank rolls off ebay. I was saving them, but decided to open them.

The 1974 d roll was mostly filled with these coins. Were these dies clashed, and than repaired? There are some details missing in Lincoln's beard, mouth, and chest. You can also see some vertical bumps, looks like a memorial reverse. Also many polishing marks.

The 1958 roll has a distinct line below Lincoln's chin that seems to line up with the N on the reverse. Is my thinking correct on these, or am I way off.

Thanks, Mike

Yep, they are both clashes. Someone was a bit vigorous with the 1974 die and removed some of the beard and neck detail as well. The 1958 has a really strong clash, nice find

Both coins are clashes.

The 1974 is a bit uncommon, but I doubt anyone would pay a premium for it.

The 1958 is quite common. A lot of late wheat dies ended up with approximately the same marks to one degree or another.

Mikep: I wasn't born with this knowledge. Some have helped me a lot. Reading has helped me when I first started. The images I use over and over and have a large collection of them on a site. I add to them when I can to fill in areas of educational purposes that need filled. It's my hobby to share what I can with others and make it easy to understand. That is my escape from real life that everyone needs a vent. Thanks for your kind words. Photo shop is my answer to help show what I want to convey in images.
