Hello there. I just came into 50 or 60 pounds of pennies. The first handful had from 1945 to 2011 (and maybe 5% USA pennies). Sorry yes there is a question here. Is there anywhere like variety vista for Canadian pennies or do people just search and make their own discoveries. Thanks for your time. I do use Coins and Canada just wondering if there are sites with more varieties/errors shown for us newbies. Edited by Fefimo 01/03/2021 11:13 pm

Don't know much if any.. .. about Canadian varieties..but If I was starting out new to this hobby, I would separate all the coins by year and then search one year at a time. Yes this will take a little of your time but best to know/see the difference from coin to coin from the same year/mint...good luck

Thanks Greasy Fingers. That's what I was thinking. I inherited a small collection so I'm trying to find things that are sellable so I can buy the ones I'm missing from my mothers collection.

Read the older posts on this site. Go to the "search" box above, enter "1945 cent", and look through the posts for variety posts, then 1946, and repeat for the other years. You will find all the info here that has already been discussed about varieties.

A complete nightmare. I bought all the pennies that I could get before they were removed from circulation. Took all of the copper pennies out, tried sorting them by year and just gave up. They are sitting in 3 shoe boxes for the past 5 years.

That's what I'm in the process of doing now. Sorting by year and rolling. If nothing else a fun retirement project in 6 years looking through them.

I just found a 1962 King George dime...accordingly, it has 80% silver. I don't know what to do with it. Should I put it with my junk silver and sell them along with US coins? There are so many Canadian circulating with US coins

coinchatter,
1962 is queen elizabeth II, not king george.
