an average of six or seven 1966 20 cent coins in every 500 noodled

David, as a reference, in my effort to noodle a complete set of circulating 20 cents I searched through 13,000 coins. 156 of those were dated 1966, which is smack bang on 6 per 500 coins noodled. Of course none of them were wavy.

As you are all too aware, every passing year sees more and more new coins released into circulation diluting that pool of 1966 coins.

'Nother 480 coins and I'm now officially sick of homecoming coins.

Total 20c coins noodled = 17300
Total no. of 1966 coins = 228

Number of wavy coins = 0

Never has a truer word been said! I'm currently getting 6.5 coins per 500 so those stats are pretty close. With cash being less preferred I assume the dilution will be mitigated to some extent.

Another 480 coins bite the dust. A good selection of commems and another 8 '66 ers although the elusive wavy was not among them. The Star of Gallantry was a cool find.

That's it from me for a while. I've actually got about a grand of noodled coins that have been residing in the front of the car for the last week waiting for a chance to deposit them. Getting rolls and bags is easy, returning the suckers is not so easy.

Total 20c coins noodled = 17780
Total no. of 1966 coins = 236

Number of wavy coins = 0

Weighing me down also, had to inflate the tyres , was planning on getting all 5cent coins from all Westpac banks so I had noodled every single coin available.
Taking longer than I thought and costing more than I thought they would have on hand.

Now that's one way to tackle it! I think that's what MachinMachiMan does. I tried to get a grand of coins from the wall yesterday. No $1 rolls and only one $2. At least I got my 480 20c coins.

Kopper Ken - Thanks for the words of encouragement.

Another lazy $96 of 20c coins. A few more Federation coins. Would have been nice if the WA coin wasn't so tarnished. Don't get many of the larger modern Kiwi 20c.

Total 20c coins noodled = 18260
Total no. of 1966 coins = 243

Number of wavy coins = 0

It's been a while since I've updated the wavy quest. I have been noodling 20c pieces but haven't been uploading my progress and have lots of little bags of coins hanging around so with a posthumous birthday holiday tomorrow I thought I'd process all the bags.

The first lot actually had some nice homecoming coins and even though I complain about them, there are a few keepers. And yes Steve, there are 2 SA centenary coins. For some reason I thought Sturt's Desert Pea was WA's floral emblem.

Total 20c coins noodled = 18280
Total no. of 1966 coins = 243

Number of wavy coins = 0

This lot was like the last. Lack lustre but with more of them! I hope they improve. At least some nice commems and NCLTs are a consolation for no wavy! A quarter of the way to 1000 1966 coins!

Total 20c coins noodled = 19240
Total no. of 1966 coins = 250

Number of wavy coins = 0
