Why is my post count not increasing with every post I upload. I seem to be stuck at 36 posts for that last 20 posts going back to Jan 17 2021. Getting up to 50 posts seem impossible if all I upload is not counted. edit: oh sure, lets let this post increment my count.. .. go figure..

On some areas the post counts don't go up. I don't know which areas don't increase your count, but the regular coin forums the counts do go up.
I think the game/ introduce yourself areas don't increase your post count.

well that certainly makes sense, I'll have to research where my last 20 posts were placed. I do know that most were in the 'US Modern Coins' area and it's sub forums.

Simple question - did your count go up with your current new thread?

Quote: Simple question - did your count go up with your current new thread? Well yes it did, you can go back up to my first post and read the edited part of the post. I wrote the first part posted it then went back in to check if it incremented - at which time I edited the post indicating that it did indeed increase. I was not aware that not all post counted.

I see you posted in a few that I don't think increase your counts like these 3: Where Are You From? What Age Group Are You In? New Member, Happy To Be Here!

Yes I have a few in those areas. It's fine the they don't count. but in the coin areas should count I would think. like I mentioned 'US Modern Coins' 'US Modern Variety and Error Coins' and this one 'US Modern Coin Grading' they didn't increment, but should they? Is there a spot on these forums that indicate where posts don't count?

I am not aware of a specific indication that lets you know whether posting in a specific subforum will increment your post count; however, your count should go up each time you make a meaningful post in each of the subforums that you have mentioned. When I go back and do a quick count of all of your posts, I came up with 42 rather than 40, so I'm thinking that the number is pretty much correct. Every once in a while, some wisenheimer will post a single letter or word in a whole bunch of threads in an effort to "bulk" up their post count. This practice is definitely frowned upon and these people have their post count decremented accordingly. I'm not seeing that with your posts though.
To help further this conversation, I'm going to move it over to the support subforum. Perhaps one of the other mods or @bobby will weigh in with further info.

ok, thanks. I just noticed the 'issue' and wanted to bring it up to clarify the standards. Thanks for looking back at my history and doing a count for me.

OK!! I got it! It hit me at about 3am this morning. The post counter is a running total of posts posted. Each post does not have it's individual post number. When looking and a single thread with many posts in it all the posts will have the same number! And they all will increment as a new post comes in.
THAT is what was confusing me. (I think I need to start drinking or something) LOL

The term of art is quality posts, not just posts. Simple wows and such don't count.

I'm just wondering when Jbuck hits 100,000 posts will they start counting backwards?

I've been watching this since I read it and have noticed that my count takes 2 or 3 posts before it goes up 1 # and all these posts are in the grading sections.
