Altec12 Valued Member United States 173 Posts	Posted 01/24/2021 10:53 pm On the Kennedy half reverse you have Machine Doubling. Very common on large coins such as these. And hold no premium. The Buffalo nickel is just circulation damage, normal wear and tear from being in service for so many years. Does not carry any premium either. When the outside of the die is affected, (the fields) isolated die polishing reduces the fields. On the coins it will leave a raised area. That is what you are seeing between the stars. Just a die event. Same on the area below the tail feathers. Isolated polishing alteration, is a die polishing issue. Report this Post to the Staff
