Believe it or not, found this in a bin of about 8000 wheat cents at my local coin shop. The dealer there said nobody to her knowledge had ever taken the time to go through the entire box. I bravely spent five hours going through the entire thing. Along with a VG 1924d, this was the best find in the box. Forgive the photos, I am still honing my photo skills. There is still a large amount of lustre on the left side of both sides. I've heard this date is notoriously badly struck. Don't seem to be strike issues with this one! Coin most certainly looks better in hand. Like to hear your input!

I see now that the pics are kind of small; I will now work on posting larger images of the angle shots.

Take shots straight on, no angle. I can't tell if there's wear. If you're going to take angle shots, only use them to supplement the straight on shots and take them at right angles, not 180 degrees.

The 26D's are known for excessive die wear, however, as best I can tell, this coin is EDS. It looks to be between AU and MS63, that's as close as I can guess from the pictures.

BadThad,
Thanks for the tips; I will take a couple of enlarged head-on shots. I tried other head on shots, the only problem was I couldn't get the light right to show the mint red on them.

I don't see any wear. Good looking coin for .07. I'd give MS63BN, maybe 64. Not sure if that's rim damage on reverse

Looking at the coin close it appears to be a rim die break.

Is there a rub on the cheek? I can't tell if there's wear from the pictures. It's between AU50 and MS-63....close as I can get with the pics.

There is a little rub on the cheek; that is the reason I included the angle shots to try to show the actual color of the coin to help in grading determination. It has enough rub that my guess would be AU55. What really stood out to me was the great detail for the date, and the fact that there was till a good amount of mint color. But, at the price, I would have bought it if it was a VF or EF.

The stuff on the reverse is tiny rim Cuds. no effect on grade.

The coin appears to be AU, but the images are not the best for grading a coin.
