Ran across these 2 in the same box. Both are curiously very similar in color. Wondering if they would be considered IAP (sintered) or if this is just some type of environmental damage or PMD. The brownish coloration is on the edge for both as well. I did put one in acetone for a few minutes and no change. Thanks

So I must have really stumped the forum on this one. Think I will take them to the local coin shop and see what they say.

Any chance we can get closer-in images, perhaps of the SW quarter of the two coins--nice and large, high resolution? A rim photo might help doo. Thanks.

I've seen toned clad coins that look like that, especially if stored with lots of others in a hot environment. Could be what we are seeing.

I would need to see the 3rd surface of theses coins, the edge. even that if the coins are circulated might be inconclusive, and it would need to be proven conclusive to be attributed as sintered or an annealing error.

Okay, thanks. I was looking for doubling. Can you see the "FG" initials on the reverse?
