it's obviously not THE ONE but is it Strike Doubling or? it looks like dd to me but what do I know

It is MD. One hint is the mint mark is also doubled because, the mint mark was added to the working die prior to 1990.

Yes Machine Doubling. People still buy the more extreme ones like this. Even when the seller labels it as MD.

1968-1972 cents have the most Machine Doubling on them. Even the DDO's have Machine Doubling on them:
This is 4 examples. All are doubled dies:
1969-S-Doubled-Die?-Not-The-One-But-Maybe-Another
Note all are showing the enlarged devices. Then note the yellow arrows. All are affected in the same direction. Note on your coin? All the MD is in the same direction. So the die was normal and the Machine Doubling happened after the strike. On the DDO's I posted all are doubled dies, (the doubling is on the die) and the machine altered the devices after the strike. Also note that the MD varies from strike to strike.
