About 8 or 9 years ago I took this to to work to show one one of the guys I worked with. A couple days later I noticed it wasn't with my other coins and I went nuts looking all over for it. After a while I gave up and figured I had just lost it. Over the years I'd look for it in various places where I thought I may have stashed it, but to no avail. Cut to last Thursday night, I'm watching a hockey game, my wife walks in the room and tells me she found this in my pants pocket when she was washing clothes a long time ago. She had put put in a box of her stuff to give it to me later, then forgot. I was wondering if any of you had ever lost a coin, given it up for lost, then had it show up out of the blue. I found a 1943-P 3/2 War Nickel when I was about 8-10. It ought to show up again one of these days...

Good thing your wife checked your pants pocket. That would have gone in the washing machine here. And I do the laundry

Good way to determine if the slab is waterproof--or not. Steel and water, what could go wrong?

Glad you finally found it. I cannot say I have ever had a coin go missing like that. Plenty of other things have disappeared and turned up later though.

When I was maybe 10 at a family party I was showing my coins to an elderly relative (not something I would do now!) - I put them away again afterwards and sometime later noticed that a 1745 shilling was missing. I searched everywhere, but it was not to be found. Eventually my parents bought a new couch and as the old one was taken away my shilling fell out of the lining where it had been for a few years.... The only downside is that it was much more worn than I remembered it :)

This is common. How it happens is simple. There are many different dimensions in our universe. It doesn't take much power to have an item fall into one of them. Usually when that happens another items replaces it here and you find something that was not there before. After a while the other universe feels the unballence and pulls the item you found back to where it was and pushes your original item back to you and you find it again. See, all is simple.

Gee, I just thought I'd found a lost coin.
