Hello, this is Jair Rivera from Colombia. I am interested in collecting pennies and this odd one came to me. I read that some are done intentionally but some are not. I would like to have the point of view from people who knows a lot more about it, like you. Thanks a lot

You've come to the right place.

Your coin was unfortunately just damaged. You can see that some of the metal has been displace around the hole. It's very rare that a mint error could produce a hole all the way through a coin like that, although I believe it can happen occasionally (http://www.error-ref.com/alloy-erro...nclusions-3/).

Appears to be deliberate, intentional damage. Rare in that you won't find thousands of these for 1971 D, but worth only one cent. A collector of damaged, holed coins might pay a few cents for it.

Thanks a lot for all your help. I also think it was intentionally done.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the image of both sides of the coin.

IMHO, I agree with it being PSD/PMD. (Post Strike Damage/Post Mint Damage)

I have never seen a coin with a hole that was not done intentionally. Agreed, PMD.
