Hi guys,

I have this 2019 P Roosevelt dime and I see that there is something going on with Roosevelt's earlobe. It appears as though Roosevelt has a pierced ear! What is this?

Too bad it was damaged. The reverse die was an EDS die. Obverse was a slightly different die state.

Thanks for your answer. What are the typical signs or characteristics of an EDS?

Coop, is it rare to have mismatched die state on one of these moderns or older coins for that matter? I have a few older LMC's which are markedly different, but don't know the frequency with which this occurs on any denomination or if it makes them more collectable.

Rosalita...On your reverse...all devices look crisp and clean with a full torch and the field is showing no die flow lines, just flat and clean makes it an EDS.
As far as his ear, just PSD or PMD...took a hit from something
