Very very pretty coin. I think this is one of the few that may be held back by the reverse. Obverse looks like an easy 66, but the reverse will keep it at 65+ potentially PL IMO.

I'll say MS-66, possibly PL.

Nice coin!
The obverse does not have any particularly significant contact marks, but has a lot of little chatter on the neck, cheek, and fields west of the portrait. The heaviest contact mark is on the "UM" of UNUM, and that is not distracting. I see the obverse on the MS-64/MS-65 bubble.
The reverse has heavier frost and greater depth of field. This makes the chatter in the fields look more serious than it is. IMHO, the reverse is comfortably MS-65.
I would net grade it to MS-64+, with an eye appeal adjustment to MS-65. Photos always make judging PL status a bit of a challenge. The reverse looks PL from the pictures, but the obverse is a tougher call. With the coin in hand, you would be in a better position to measure reflectivity. The frost is complete on the obverse, but not as prominent as the frost on the reverse.
All things said, this looks like a classic Gem BU PL, in older grading terms. Depending on the depth of field with the coin in hand, I could easily see this as MS-65 PL in today's terms.
Again, that's a really nice coin.

I'd go 65PL if it looks as good in-hand as it does here. In 66PL we're talking about moon money.
65PL is a $1,000 piece and this looks like one of those.

I agree with MS65 and likely PL given the apparent age of the holder.

Guessing MS65, possible PL. Photos are too small for me to be more accurate.

above average strike which is typical for this year. luster broken across cheek and neck. for surface preservation it has there is some chatter on both sides and minor marks. eye appeal in the average range the only thing detracting is the flatness of the cheek due to the luster. with that missing luster I cant see this at MS65. cannot assess PL without depth perception like newsprint etc. MS64+

I was considering this one for a crack out, but a big dollar jump between 64 and 65 in PL might make it difficult to get the higher grade because NGC only has 15 1882 coins graded MS65 PL. In hand this coin looks MS65. Thanks for the comments.

One option might be to do a crossover to PCGS, with a minimum acceptable grade. You would only be out the cost of submission. If MS-65 PL seems too big a jump, would you have a better shot at MS-64+ PL? That would at least cause some bourse floor speculation about 65, and nudge the price up. The increase in value might more than offset the cost of submission.
Just a thought.

Wish I had commented before the reveal. It was going to agree with Toby. Oh, well. But thanks for showing the coin.
Stay well, Diy89Nurm7

imo I cant see PCGS reassessing this coin at 65 based on my previous comments
