I posted this on Facebook recently as I was curious if anyone happens to know some background info on this Token.

Upon inspecting it compared to others found online there are a number of differences that stand out and I cannot find another that looks the same as mine.

Last summer I did a job for a woman that had her late husband pass away, he was a well-connected carpenter that built the sets for numerous Canadian TV Shows (Air-Farce, The Red Green Show, etc) and was an avid collector that traveled frequently.

After conversating with her she offered it to me as a gift and I put it away and never thought to look into it until now.

You will notice that there are quite a bit of difference on my Token compared to the one on Numista (and all the ones found online and ebay) and I am just trying to determine if it was genuine or something else.

If you look at the side with the Steam Engine you will find plenty of oddities that are not present on the one from Numista.

any info would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

I vote variety. Probably two different issue dates or restrikes similar to some of Municipal Trade Tokens.

Nobody* would make a fake one of these - there simply isn't the collector demand. If I had to guess at an explanation for the differences, I would say it's a re-engraved die for when a second batch of medals was ordered; if the original dies wore out after striking the first batch of medals, rather than make brand new dies, the old dies would have been polished down, then details re-engraved to be similar, but not the same as, the original strikes.

* - while you should never categorically say "nobody would fake this" about anything, I'd say the probability of this being fake, as opposed to "just a die variety", would be extremely low.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
