Check the edge where the weakness of the date and the weakness of the reverse at 2:00 on the reverse. See if that edge there is thinner?

Well that must not be the issue, but maybe a Grease Fill on the dies. Thanks.

Reminds me of a cleaning that went wrong and then stained with instant coffee?

Coop (Reminds me of a cleaning that went wrong and then stained with instant coffee) So would soaking it in hot water answer that question? Just wondering

I used to re-make Wedding invitations look old with instant coffee and painted on the paper and water to make it look real old. Attach it to an older barn board and coat it with sealer. It made great memory aid. The groom just had to re-check the date monthly, so he wouldn't forget it. Keeps the wife happy:

A much simpler explanation: Just a very late die state. Look how the motto is warping toward the rim.

Definitely LDS coin. Common on 20s wheats. Probably cleaned too.
