I Would like to take a moment and say hello to everyone and how much I appreciate and respect any advice or opinion that may be offered.I don't mind telling you that for the last several months now I have been trying to research two coins that I have aquired, it could be that I have stumbled, a couple of new discoveries, that could turn out to be really nice, and then again it may not be anything at all.

I'm sorry for ramblin'on like I am so I'll get to it.

The coins in question are Lincoln Cents, the first one is a 1944 Lincoln Wheat cent that appears to have the last 4 of the date stamped over another numeral, I'm having a problem getting the photo to upload but I'll do my best to get a good image up as soon as I can I was wondering if anyone has any information on the U. S. Mint re-punching any dates or a new venue that I can find out more info on. I have exhausted all that I know.

Does anyone have any information on my second roadblock, it will be another Lincoln Cents, (I love searching through pennies more than any of the others). It is a 1982D lrg. date and looks as DDO, w/RPM, a D over S I can't seem to find any information on anything for that year. I would greatly appreciate any help with these guys.

Hopefully I'm not imagining it, I'm going now and try to get these images to upload I hope that I can get them up soon. Thanks. By the way the problem is in my equipment, it's all old, overused and flat worn out, like,myself...

We'd love to see what you have! Please post each coin separately, please, each in it's own thread. It's less confusing for us that way. Thanks.

The large date copper cents fool a lot of people. The devices look very large normally on these. But there is a nice DDO and I've created a Side by side, so you can compare the normal and the DDO next to each other:
Needed.-Expertise,-Knowledge-And-Wisdom.-Two-Lincoln-Cents---1944-And-1982-D
Not the size of the normal and then note how much larger the centers of the devices are.

This coin shows where to look for the doubled dies as the center areas are where you see the hub doubling. Note on this one, you can actually see a line almost right up the centers of the devices.

It was the reason I created a thread to the enlarged devices. And 1982 large date are part of the discussion:

Take a look and you will see why they distract so many collectors.

On the 1944 there were class 6 doubled dies that year. Here is the difference between the normal and the strong DDO:

On the 82D lg date...without pictures..I'm assuming its weight is @ 2.5 gms and what you're seeing is zinc rot around the mint mark.

to CCF good luck on future finds, have fun and keep asking....
