Hi guys,

I have this 1989 P Roosevelt dime and see that there is an odd chunk of metal on the obverse right side and a few smaller bits all together at the back of Roosevelt's head, and one at the bottom of the "9" in 1989. Are these all considered die chips or something else?

I usually see smaller die chips scattered across Roosevelt's hair and face.

Look like die chips. With those flow lines, that die doesn't look
like it would last too much longer.

I tentatively agree. It doesn't really make sense to me that die chips would occur in the middle of the field, but I guess the die was on its last legs.

with that. How would a flat zone start chipping out? Unless something impacted the die when it was being installed?

With the distortion on the Motto and date area, I feel that this die has been polished several times.
